Black Label 14% 5kg alcohol yeast ferments the purest of all our Turbos in 5 days if the instructions are followed. Our best 14% Turbo.
Black Label Turbo Yeast is a temperature tolerant turbo yeast that is suited for mash, fruit Schnapps and alco base. Dosage is maximum 3.6 gram yeast per liter (0.5 oz./gallon) fermentation, but when used for 15-15.5% alco base, dosage is often only 2.8 gram per liter (0.4 oz./gallon).
Black Label Turbo Yeast easily produce 17.5% ethanol and often 1-2% more.
Instructions for 25 liter (6.6 gallon):
1. Dissolve 6 kg (US 13 lbs) of sugar into 6 liter (1.6 gallon) of hot water. Make sure the sugar has completely dissolved before continuing.
2. Top up to final volume with cold water, continue to stir until the liquid specific gravity is 1090.
3. Make sure the liquid temperature is below 39°C (102°F) then add 90 gram Black Label yeast (3.18 oz.) (3.6 g /liter=0.48 OZ/US Gallon). For fermentation of larger volumes read more at www.turbo-yeast.com. Stir until no yeast particles are visible.
4. Allow to ferment at 20-30°C (68-86 °F) air temperature for 3 days or until fermentation stops.
Ingredients:
Active dried yeast, yeast nutrients, trace vitamins and minerals.
NB. Make sure the liquid temperature is kept below 39°C (102°F) throughout fermentation.
* Used by distilleries.
